Islington Town Hall

Islington Town Hall is a bit of a star when it comes to wedding venues in London, perched stylishly on Upper Street, right in the thick of ultra cool north London. Not only is the location ideal for nipping off to nearby parks or sipping cocktails at cool local bars post-ceremony, but the building itself is very elegant. 

The ceremony rooms here cater to everyone. Big fan of stained glass and vaulted ceilings? The Council Chamber is your go-to, seating up to 85 guests. Fancy something with a cosy, traditional vibe? The Richmond Suite has you covered with its oak panelling and vintage Art Deco charm. Or perhaps you want something sleek and modern? Room 99 is all about understated mid-century chic. 

You’ve even got the ultra-intimate Mayor’s Parlour for just four guests, or the bijou Angel and Canonbury Suites for the perfect ‘mini-mony’. Oh, and if your fur baby is part of the family, good news: all rooms except the Mayor’s Parlour are pet-friendly.

The star of the show here is the Assembly Hall, an absolute corker of a space with chandeliers that scream glamour and a sprung dance floor made for some epic moves. It’s perfect if you’re going big – 300 seated guests or up to 500 standing. 

For smaller, more intimate vibes, the hall can be split into two areas, or you could opt for the Atria. This glass-roofed courtyard has all the outdoor feels minus the fear of rain ruining your hair. The Atria can host ceremonies, cocktail hours, and receptions for up to 200 people, so there’s plenty of room.

Don’t miss the Bridgetown Bar either – a lush vintage spot that’s perfect for cocktails (and a sneaky pre-reception breather), this London Town Hall for your wedding makes sure everything runs like clockwork.

Tucked away in chic Marylebone, this neo-baroque beauty has been hosting weddings for over a century. The seven ceremony rooms here offer something for everyone. Whether it’s just the two of you or your 100 guests, there’s a room that’ll fit your vibe. Expect wood-panelled walls, intricate plaster ceilings, and a touch of Scandi cool in the furnishings. You have everything from marble staircases to its iconic façade. 

Plus, the location couldn’t be better for your photos and continuing the party – Marylebone is packed with cute mews and surrounding streets, swanky restaurants and hotels for a seamless post-ceremony soirée. Top marks all round.

Chelsea Old Town Hall

Chelsea Old Town Hall might just be the showstopper of London’s wedding venues. 

Positioned on the iconic King’s Road, this Grade II* listed building has been lovingly restored to its Victorian glory and is as glamorous as they come. It’s no wonder so many celebs and royals have got married here.

The Small Hall, seating up to 140 guests, is a hit for its natural light and ornate details – just wait until you see the carved crests and Minstrels’ Gallery. If you’re thinking bigger, the Main Hall is where it’s at. With its jaw-dropping vaulted ceiling, cherub-clad covings, and a dance floor made for boogying, this space can seat 180 for dinner or 144 if you’re adding a bit of dancing into the mix.

Being on King’s Road means your day doesn’t end at the Town Hall’s doors. There are tons of trendy spots nearby for a post-ceremony tipple or a proper knees-up, not to mention the picturesque Albert Bridge for some killer couple portraits.

This Art Deco masterpiece oozes 1930s sophistication, with its dark mahogany, shiny marble, and even a mirror ball that could give Studio 54 a run for its money.

The Council Chamber is perfect for a ceremony with a bit of old-school charm. It’s got walnut panelling, an elegant curved speaker’s table, and space for 83 guests, including a cosy balcony area. 

For those looking to go big, the Assembly Hall is a jaw-dropper. With a capacity of up to 550 for a standing reception, this room is made for grand celebrations. And let’s not forget that maple sprung dance floor – it’s basically begging for a conga line or two.
