When Paddy & Jess first sent through their enquiry back in Sept ‘22, they’d already captivated me with their wedding day vision, under the “our vibe for the day will be…” section they wrote:

We would describe our wedding day as a very queer east london casual cool vibe.... if that makes any sense! And aesthetically we're going for pinks/orange/tropical plants/disco balls. To give you an idea of our personal vibes, we're both wearing white air max 97s to get married”

…I mean, I was hooked!!

Hackney town hall has long been on my list of dream-venue locations, with it’s double height ceilings & abundance of light, it’s the perfect space to celebrate with an inner city ceremony in the Heart of East London!

Jess started her morning at One Hundred Shoreditch, a stylish and modern hotel only minutes from the Town Hall, with her mum, sister & best friend who travelled all the way from Canada to be at her wedding. With the playlist on and hair & make up in full swing, Jess’ prep was a perfect mixture of excitement & emotional moments, topped off with a stunning reveal moment in her Jesus Peiro dress with her dad & brother in the rooftop room overlooking the city skyline.

Paddy’s preparations was a little more low key, meeting up with their friends & family at their local pub, stopping for a pint (and some shots) on the way to the town hall.

Hackney was home for Paddy & Jess for a long time and holds so many memories for them both, and after a summer of rain, the sun shone over London for their wedding day. The amazing atrium room at Hackney Town Hall was perfectly laid out for their 80 guests and decorated with bright & colourful florals by Honey Bunch complete with palms and pops of pinks & oranges! I love it when people really add in their own flavour to their wedding day, and Jess & Paddy had that in abundance… vibrant florals, modern wedding style & of course their matching Nike’s.

After their emotional ceremony (queue all their friends & family crying) they had another colourful display outside for their confetti aisle, followed by all their guests making their way onto a classic red London bus to take them to the reception venue, while Jess & Paddy got into their sweet vintage red Mustang to cruise to Victoria Park for couple portraits. Jess & Paddy totally utilised their time for couple portraits, making a stop at the exact spot where they had their first kiss, followed by some photos in the mustang just before their arrival at Filly Brook where their guests were waiting to give them the warmest arrival.

“We were so comfortable and at home with her. Both Paddy and I were a bit worried we'd look awkward or uncomfortable in our photos but as you can see that was not the case at all. Charlie put us at ease straight away with her quiet confidence and silly 'dad jokes'.” - Jess

Filly Brook was the perfect setting for their very relaxed reception complete with taco street food and all the cocktails you could ask for, the speeches were super emotional and had most of the guests in tears and hysterics, and not forgetting the dance floor that went OFF with everyone dancing non-stop to iconic George Micheal & Fat Boy Slim.

Jess & Paddy planned their wedding to be the most joyful and fun day spent with all the people who mean the most to them both, and I think you’ll agree that they definitely pulled that off! The love & happiness in that room for them both was electric and I’m still buzzing off it…. that, after all, is what weddings are all about!
